Giclee Prints from Watercolors
I have drawn and painted since childhood. It is simply what I like to do best. I paint every day in my home studio in Bristol. When it is warm enough, I paint on location which is the most fun because it is all right there - the light, the smells, and the color.
I graduated from Vassar College where I studied history and fine art. I began painting full-time after teaching at a boarding school for several years. I have been making my living as an artist for over twenty-five years.
I feel fortunate to live in Vermont. The rural landscape truly inspires me. I love painting farms, flowers, buildings, animals and water. I try to capture the essence of a place in my paintings. I paint on 140 lb. Arches Hot Press Watercolor paper which is very smooth and allows for fine detail. I use Winsor-Newton Watercolors and a blend of sable and synthetic brushes.
