ROCKY DALE GARDENS
Tickets in Advance Only: $30 each
Art on Main is pleased to announce a summer garden fundraiser featuring nationally recognized garden expert Charlie Nardozzi. Charlie will speak at and about Bristol’s beloved Rocky Dale Gardens on Sunday, July 14 from 4-6 PM. Join us as we tour the exceptional display gardens and unique landscape of Rocky Dale under the educated and exuberant guidance of Vermont’s favorite gardener. Charlie will discuss plants, garden design and maintenance; including Rocky Dale’s unusual specimen trees that add such distinction to the property. The tour will be followed with Herbal Tea & Treats and time for a Q & A with Charlie and Rocky Dale’s expert staff.
Rocky Dale Gardens is a destination nursery and display garden, specializing in unique conifers, trees, shrubs and perennials. The garden and nursery are located in the schist outcrops and ledges that protrude from the base of South Mountain just north of Bristol village. Started in 1981, the gardens, now owned by visionary gardener Ed Burke, feature many mature trees and woody plant specimens to give inspiration to gardeners. Ed has owned Rocky Dale for 20 years and describes it as “a specialty nursery that offers an experience, not just plants.” This immersive plant experience and unique location is what sets Rocky Dale apart for those who visit.

THE MINI CLOTHESLINE PROJECT:
A ONE-NIGHT SPECIAL ART INSTALLATION
PRODUCED BY THE ATRIA COLLECTIVE
NAME THE DEER!
And the winner is….Tyler Day of Middlebury with “Leonardo Deer Vinci”! Congratulations, Tyler! We love the name! We will call him Leo for short!
Tyler had many clever suggestions for the deer including Salvadeer Dali, Rembrandtler, Stagson Pollack and Bambi Warhol. Tyler says he was inspired for his art-related ideas for the Deer Name because, being a Dad of two elementary school boys, he likes to be "punny".
We had almost 100 names submitted to the contest! Some other great suggestions were Deer John, Cliff, The Main Deer, Arturo (Art for short), Art I. Deer, Bruce Bucky, Buck-A-Roo, Arty, Spike and Deerleaper.
Many thanks to all who took part! This was fun! Be sure to come by to say hi to "Leo" in 2024!
