Mixed Media Fish Art

I use wood, acrylic, resin, nautical charts and sand to create my fish art. My process is to design and cut the fish images out of wood, then paint the fish swimming off the nautical or topographical maps, using acrylic and resin to build up the layers.

Living in the contrasting environments of the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Burlington, Vermont, I am connected to a deep sense of place. In the Barrier Islands, I feel this connection through the constant shifting of the sands and the power of the ocean.

Here in the Green Mountains of Vermont, I feel the connection in the grounding presence of the mountains and the fluidity of the rivers.

I speak to this sense of place through my Art, expressing the energy of Universal Connection, present in all things.
